Meet Delia
I studied a three year intensive course in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine at City College of Acupuncture and am a member of the British Acupuncture Council. Currently, I run my private studio from the Therapeutic Rooms in Shoreditch, whilst also working Monday’s at the NHS Gateway Clinic for Chronic pain on and Wednesday and Saturday at Hilltop Community Acupuncture in New Cross.
Chinese Medicine has helped me immensely throughout my life, firstly as a child using herbs to help with my immune system and later in life using acupuncture for menstrual irregularities, musculoskeletal pain and mental health support.
Meditative movement practices have equally benefited both my mental and physical well-being throughout my life. I've spent years teaching Yoga, originally training with Erin Pritchard and trained in mindfulness practices and 5 Element Qigong with Mimi Quo Deemer. I completed a one-year mentorship with Mimi and later assisted in further trainings. Both remain my teachers, and I hold their teachings in the highest regard. I am deeply grateful to have them guide me on this path.
Additionally, I am trained in trauma-sensitive yoga and work with the Prison Phoenix Trust, bringing yoga and mindfulness to prisons and probation centres.
Working both privately and within the community, I am passionate about making these invaluable practices accessible to everyone.
My Approach
I am interested in the interplay between the mind, emotions, and body, and how their relationship shapes overall health. Understanding the demands of modern life, I believe there is no right or wrong approach; I meet each patient uniquely, at their own pace and level.
As someone who runs, swims, and cycles, I understand the benefits of physical movement but also the demands of an active lifestyle. First hand experiencing the importance of preventative medicine and the profound power of Chinese Medicine for aiding both prevention and recovery.
I encourage that our work together continues outside the treatment space and I will often integrate acupuncture with movement practices like Qigong and Yoga, along with mindfulness, breath-work, nutritional support and seasonal living advice, to support patients on their journey.
I treat a wide range of conditions, with particular interest in chronic and acute pain, digestive issues, gynaecology, pregnancy, sleep, anxiety and mental health support.
I believe that finding a balanced lifestyle that works and supports us as individuals is a challenging yet beautiful art and see the treatment room as a collaborative, evolving space between patient and practitioner.
I am dedicated to empowering patients to find strength, softness and joy on their health journey.
