Ideally comfortable loose clothing with easy access to above the elbows and knees. However, if you're coming from somewhere in which this isn't possible, we have blankets etc so can make it work either way

Acupuncture does not hurt, however you may feel a gentle sensation from the needles or a reaction called 'deqi'.
In acupuncture, "deqi" refers to a specific sensation experienced by the patient when the needle reaches the desired depth and the qi (energy) is activated. This sensation can vary but is often described as an initial gentle electric like sensation followed by a dull ache, tingling, warmth, or a feeling of soft pressure around the needle.

Sessions are 1 hour. This will always include a talking consultation and at least 25 minutes with needles in. Depending on what you are coming for other ancillary techniques (electro acupuncture, gu sha, moxa, cupping) or movement practices may be included within this hour too.

It depends what you are coming for but you should feel some changes after one session. However, acupuncture works best as an accumulative practice therefore usually we would suggest 4-6 sessions to get maintained results.

As we are working with the bodies natural energy supply, we ask you not to come on an empty stomach and suggest you refrain from too much caffeine or alcohol on the day of treatment.

This tends to depend on your reason for coming and the specific treatment given. The majority of patients experience a feeling of calm after treatment. Some may also feel energised and some may feel tired. This is often your body telling you what you need - be that movement and socialising or quiet time and and rest.
